Japanese Zen Garden

(Caitlyn Seymour, class of 2025) Over the summer I had the privilege of visiting Japan for the first time. On our last night in Japan in Mt. Fuji we headed to a last minute dinner at a traditional place where you have to sit on your knees. After experiencing the amazing food and a small Earthquake, I entered the bathroom to find a pretty zen garden on the wall with patterns of sand. As this was a night to remember I was inspired by the bathroom while creating my mural and decided to paint my version of a garden in Kyoto.
